Go Cubs Go 02:04
The sound of a case being opened Rings out like a call to arms I can hope that others have heard it And are on their way Yards outside of classrooms Diamonds of red slate And old chain linked fences Where you lay your hands For a moment one connection A simple wish To walk tomorrow with you There's red sand In my shoes and I’ll brush my fingers to yours And that's good enough It's good enough for me And that's good enough For me.
2.
Avoid tomorrow, like it was the plague Dream of the food you’ll eat just to survive Avoid tomorrow at all costs Put off sleep for too long, too long Did you ever think it would be like this? No no no no no no no No no no no no no no The day isn’t over the sun is still shining on your face Your imagination is now the perfect hiding place Running on empty and the light begins to go The last rest stop still gives off a neon glow An abandoned highway is such a lonely gift If you turn back now you could still make your morning shift Avoid tomorrow, like it’s the last Make plans and break them just to feel alive Avoid tomorrow, like it’s part of the plan Dream of the people you’ll meet and forget their name’s Did you ever think it would be like this? No no no no no No no no no no Running on empty and the light begins to go The last rest stop still gives off a neon glow An abandoned highway is such a lonely gift If you turn back now you could still make your morning shift

Song 3 03:56
A spider’s web in the corner, by the window catch the light A lone pine in the wheat field, watch it bend, watch it break The wind can keep you company during winter time in spring feel myself slipping away From the man i used to know feel myself slipping away how can you find the words feel myself slipping away to know what you are worth feel myself slipping away i think i’m crying out It can’t be easy being there, but just give it one more try When the midnight train comes around The ghosts go on their way feel myself slipping away From the man i used to know feel myself slipping away how can you find the words feel myself slipping away to know what you are worth feel myself slipping away i think i’m crying out

Anxiety 03:29
Anxiety Anxiety Say hello with a chinese finger trap Tighter and tighter Red walls surround the room How do you sleep at night? Turn the lights down Turn the lights down Keep the windows closed to the smoke outside what are you afraid of anyway? Anxiety Anxiety an amnesiac looking at a picture frame where something’s supposed to be How do you sleep at night? Turn the lights down Turn the lights down Keep the windows closed to the smoke outside a fairy tale where the witches won Anxiety Anxiety Move on (Anxiety) Move on Move on (Anxiety) Move on Anxiety Anxiety

The laughs a second too loud The hugs a second too long The stupid decisions of TV Characters Somehow start to seem rational It feels so good to love someone When you haven’t for a long time It’s the buzz of being 15 again When the stakes were so damn high The feeling of being out of control You aren’t the master of your own mind It may be toxic It may be just what you need Maybe it's a healing thing Maybe it’s destroying you from the inside Maybe you’re a bad person I don’t want to move on yet It’s so fun flirting with you in my head I don’t want to move on yet Remembering all the funny things that you said It’s the part that tries to forget the facts The part that tries to pretend I rack my brain for the million ways the future could play out I can see no happy end So we can only be friends I opened the door to more An inevitable mistake That doesn’t come around everyday Makes what’s ridiculous feel rational And I will never tell you Just like when I was 15 The feeling of slipping out of control We’ll keep it wholesome We’ll keep it clean It may be toxic It may be just what you need Maybe it's a healing thing Maybe it’s destroying you from the inside Maybe you’re a bad person I don’t want to move on yet It’s so fun flirting with you in my head I don’t want to move on yet Remembering all the funny things that you said It’s the part that tries to forget the facts The part that tries to pretend I rack my brain for the million ways the future could play out I can see no happy end So we can only be friends We can only be friends We can only be friends We can only be friends

At The End 04:23
At the end of the world you will find a new home A place you can call love and lost love’s only once And it’s there you will find a life left behind The traces of dreams and the children as they run and scream And all around you becomes a dream Stuck in a box below the crust of the earth if you look around how could it get any worse How do you know you let the right ones in when everyone is saying how much they have sinned Looking for an end Looking for an end Looking for an end I'm looking for the end To life’s little contradictions and the stupid things we say For a moment they won’t mean a thing as we get out of our own way Looking for the end Looking for the end Looking for the end Looking for the end

To the ghosts you loved and left behind Bear witness to the ones who are on your mind To the ghosts you still know who lost their way And the one you’ll meet this Christmas Day Hey Hey Remember what to say To the ghost on Christmas Day To the ghosts we forgave and can’t forget Beg and plead but don’t submit To the ghosts we all share but hide away We’ll meet them all this Christmas Day Hey Hey We don’t know what to say To the ghost on Christmas Day To the ghosts who lived long and are now long gone I hope you found a love so strong To the ghosts who died young in your own way I’ll see you on Christmas Day Hey Hey This is what I’ll say To the ghosts on Christmas Day

From the town where the dirt devils drive Across a football field of straw The only thing to do at night Was to smoke or drink or run the cowboy trail raw When we were kids everything we did was like the best night of our lives Jumping fires in the construction site Driving high to see what it was like They shut down the old community centre where we played our first guitars We left more on those stages than we ever did before When I left I swore I’d never leave This town of bonfires and daydreams Now I’m gone and there’s nothing pulling me back Heaven’s waiting down on the track Show me show me show me how you’ve stayed alive All these years gone by Do you step outside for a smoke of dope or do you prefer the stronger stuff For every church there’s two more liquor stores does the train come through here anymore? They shut down the old community centre where we played our first guitars We left more on those stages than we ever did before When I left I swore I’d never leave This town of bonfires and daydreams Now I’m gone there’s nothing pulling me back Heaven’s waiting down on the track When I left I swore I’d never leave This town of bonfires and daydreams Now I’m gone there’s nothing pulling me back Heaven’s waiting down on the track

Go Habs Go 01:52
The sound of the ice as it cracks and it quakes ‘neath a squad of sharp Bauer blades The fans in the stands not quite hand in hand As they all sound off for Carey Price An inherited cause passed from father to son It’s here where we have our first memory The snap of a stick the puck rips into twine And the people rise to their feet The thrill of the chase for an old beaten Cup A moment you’d never replace thank god for this run to a simpler time When a goal puts a smile on your face They win or they lose, Hope brought us this far And that’s good enough for me… They win or they lose, Hope brought us this far And that’s good enough It’s good enough for me And that’s good enough for me…

Last Year 05:23
Last Year, We walked away from the same old story told over and over again Last year we found a home in a brand new country just before the world caved in Last year, We fell in love as the light fell low and the shadow drew in Last Year I tried to stay I was scared I lost myself I was in retreat Last Year, Add a branch to the family tree just to have it clipped so easily Last year we had a plan it had a name and it all ended up the same Last Year, We were lost and afraid but we fought to fight again in a brand new day Last year It was a test it was a fight it was a war and I can’t imagine the rest We found a way through the year We found a way through the year We found a way through the year We found a way through the year We found a way through the year We found a way through the year We found a way through the year We'll find our way to next year

about

this is a collection of songs that seem to always be looking back to where we came from. and acknowledging, for better or worse, that you can't go back. I am so proud to share these songs with the world. thanks to my bandmates for being immensely talented, these songs simply do not happen without you two. to my roommates for being totally cool with us recording an album at home for over a year, and to Ali. Always.
- Greg

It has been an absolute pleasure to take part in the creation of this album. The songs are all personal and layered with a variety of textures and styles that were so fun to discover. Mostly, I want to thank my bandmates (Greg and Ryan) for inviting me into this process, for encouraging me to try new things like playing the keyboard and writing lyrics, and for always being willing to listen to my thoughts and opinions as we shaped this album together. You two have given me a new creative outlet that I never knew I needed.
Special thanks to Greg for the hours and hours he spent making sure the mix was just right. Thanks also to the residents of the Boathaus who have heard us play these songs a million times yet were always kind and sometimes provided us snacks/treats while we were rehearsing. Thanks to Mom, Dad and other family for all their support in my musical endeavours throughout the years.
I also want to thank anyone who takes the time to listen to this album in its entirety. It was crafted with care in each moment and I am very proud of it. I hope it is enjoyed and can make you feel something.
- Sarah
